Laurent studied law in Montpellier (France) and in London (University College London (LL.M.) until 1992 and is first admitted as a lawyer in 1993. In 1995, Laurent is admitted as an Avocat à la Cour.
Between 1996 and 2013, Laurent is an associate and later a partner in a reputable mid-size law firm where he was heading, over time, the Corporate Department and the Insolvency and Restructuring Unit.
In 2009, Laurent is appointed as court-approved co-liquidator of several Luxembourg-based Lehman Brothers companies. He is still spending a considerable amount of energy on these liquidations in 2015.
In 2013, Laurent sets up Laurent Fisch Luxlegal, a niche law firm dedicated to serving institutional clients, corporate and banking lenders as well as other stakeholders in their restructuring efforts of Luxembourg entities.
Since late 2014, Laurent has been the court-appointed liquidator or Leyne, Strauss-Kahn & Partners (en faillite) and of its asset management subsidiary, Assya Asset Management Luxembourg S.A. (in judicial liquidation) as well of several other companies of the group.
In 2015, Laurent teams up with Franz Fayot in a new firm, FischFayot.
Laurent is also active member of various professional associations for many years, including the Insolvency Section of the International Bar Association (IBA), American Bar Association (ABA) and INSOL.
He lives and works in Luxembourg, is married and the father of 3 aged 17, 13 and 6.
Laurent is fluent in English, French, German and Luxembourgish.
